Northey Family of Box and Ashley  Spring 2020   Issue 27

Picture
Northey Family Series
Our series this year concerns arguably the most significant family ever to live in the village. The Northeys were lords of the manors of Box and Ashley, owners of Ashley Manor and Cheney Court, and presidents of Box Cricket Club and Kingsdown Golf Club. But what were they really like? Over the next 12 months we tell the story of their 300-year tenure in the village.
