     Box Rec 1926       Summer 2022     Issue 36

Box Rec was donated to the village in 1926 (photo courtesy John Brooke Flashman)
Box Recreation Field was donated to the village in 1926. Previously, It was just two fields separated by a hedge and no football pitch. Also missing were the Selwyn Hall and car park, not built until 1960s,  To the north-east you can clearly see
The Wharf stoneyard at the foot of the gravity railway crossing under under the A4 road.
