Tudor and Stuart Box
The story of life in Box in the 1500s and 1600s has never been fully recorded. Yet it was a time of massive change and the incredible evolution of the village from a medieval world to modern times. In this first issue of 2016 we start with the death of John Thrift in the Box bell tower in the mid-1600s, extracts from Box's first historian John Aubrey, and the fascinating story of the Webb Family who lived at Coles Farm.
