VE Day 1945 Commemorated Summer 2020 Issue 28
The Bank Holiday on Friday 8 May was due to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the end of the Second World War in Europe. The announcement of Germany's unconditional surrender in 1945 had been expected for a week and the public were notified the previous night. Box then had two days of celebrations, VE Day and VE Day Plus 1. Find out what happened in 1945.
