Life in Box Alan Payne Photographs courtesy Diana Northey February 2020
The photographs in these albums are quite remarkable, showing the Northey family relaxing at home in Box. As such, they give an insight into the members of the family as well as the village in the years around the start of the twentieth century.
There are a few images of the landscape in Box, showing the importance of woodland at a time before plastic and rolled steel joist (RSJ beams) dominated building construction.
The photos also show the family in their domestic settings.
