Excitement About Village Outings                   Mark Jenkinson                    December 2015
The article we published about Victorian Village Outings sparked off as many questions as answers. Mark Jenkinson helped solve the dilemma about who went on the visits when he found an inscription written in the underground stone mines by a quarryman publicising the Excursion to Weymouth 13 July 1878.

Of course, like most original research, one piece of fabulous evidence just sparks off more questions. Mark asks:
  • Any views on who wrote the message?
  • July 13th 1878 was a Saturday. I wonder how Box residents travelled there?
More help from readers seems to be needed please ..........
