Nicknames or Insults:     Colerne and Box Rivalry   
We are told that the residents of Colerne are sometimes called Colerne Donkeys by Box villagers. This seems to be something to do with the burial of an upside-down donkey, leaving the four hooves poking out of the ground. Apparently these required to be polished. In retaliation Box residents were called Box Hooters by Colerne folk.
 
Does anyone know the stories behind these nicknames. Any answers, real or imaginary, are welcome to solve the mystery.
