Cogswell Get-Together Photos Carol Payne October 2016
Twenty-seven of Cogswells from all over the world had a reunion in Middlehill in October 2016, thanks to the hospitality of Graham and Theresa. Some were local, others from across the UK and a few from overseas. James (known as JC), head of the USA branch, coudn't attend but sent the fabulous video below to show where his father and mother had settled across the States.
Several people brought family photographs to remember the Cogswell members who are no longer with us, including this photo of Alec as a young man (below left courtesy Margaret Wakefield) and a postcard from the inter-war years from Nellie & Rose Cogswell in Box to William in the United States.
And three generations of the family rounded off the visit by spending time tracing their lost family home at Brookwell, Box Hill (below left). As you can see from the photo a tree branch almost fell on their heads - was that spooky or not? And they found the location of Alma, Box Hill (below right) where the family also lived at times.
If you have a family reunion of Box inhabitants, we should love to hear about your get-together.
