Unknown Photos            Photos Augustus F Perren       February 2025
Can you help with identifying these people and places?
Picture
We do not know about this group of young people or the location of the photograph. The men are attired in a formal way and some of the women are wearing elaborate hats but there is no indication that this was a wedding photograph. The wearing of bowler hats often implied a civil service or clerical status of lower middle class families. Could the photo be of a Bath club or society?

Is it fanciful to suggest that the photos above are of the same person at different times in his life? In which event, is the person a family relative?
Picture
A charming photograph of two young ladies, pictured in a somewhat unwordly setting.

Can any reader help to identify this house?

Julian Carosi kindly sent us confirmation that the above image is of St Catherine's Court, Bath. Thank you, Julian. Local residents will know that Julian has written a remarkable series of books on the history of the Corsham area, including the fabulous "Corsham Revealed" series.
Picture
A late Victorian or Edwardian manor house stuffed full of furniture with seats arranged around the fireplace to keep residents warm. The ceiling has been vaulted and lowered to retain heat and sometimes to disguise often old and crumbling beams.
