Discovered that I missed the deeds of Kingsdown House from 1729 to 1890-odd that are in the Wiltshire Record Office:
1729 James Jefferys bought the freehold of the House
1813 Leased the property to the Langworthys
1828 Bought by the Langworthy son
Unfortunately he mortgaged it then went bankrupt with the result that -
1858 Sold by Langworthy and bought by Nash family.
Looking at Prospect House, the Langworthys seem to have moved into it, bought it, and then extended Kingsdown House to hold more patients.
I assume site of Prospect House itself is behind the cottages. They have been brought closer to the road where the site is wider and so they could fit more in.
